HORRIBLE ATROCITIES IN CHINA PROVINCES COMMUNISTS ACTIVE Reed. 9.5 a.m. SHANGHAI, Tuesday, j Terrible atrocities are reported I from the Kiangsi Province, where Communist irregulars are running wild and terrorising the countryside. After capturing the tow t n of Yanshow, 150 miles s- nth of Hankow, Communists seized the city magistrate and boiled him in oil. Other prominent residents were cruelly tortured, and three foreign missionaries were carried off. The Government forces 1 appear to be inadequate to cope with the situation, so foreigners are hurriedly evacuating.
