PIANO STUDENTS’ MEETING

MISS MARIE JAGUSCH IS SPEAKER There was a good attendance at the fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Piano Students’ Association, held in the Lewis Eady Hall on Monday evening. Miss Revell Satchwell and Mr. J. Tait wrote agreeing to give lectures to the association during the year. It was decided to appoint Mr. Karl Atkinson to represent the association on the IYA musical and dramatic committee, in accordance with a request made by the Radio Broadcasting Company of New Zealand, Ltd. “The Form of the Gavotte and Minuet” formed an interesting lecturette given by Miss Marie Jagusch, who illustrated her remarks by playing compositions by Amani, Gluck, Beethoven, Mozart, and Thomas. Miss A. Walker, Miss E. Balmires, and Miss J. Parker also contributed items.
