REVENUE DECREASES
HARBOUR BOARD RETURNS £30,000 FOR MARCH The ordinary cash receipts for the Port of Auckland for March amounted to £30.905, a decrease of £3.352 as compared with the same month last year. This was announced at yesterday’s meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board. Mr. M. H. Wynyard presiding. Receipts totalling £503 were recorded from Manukau Harbour, a decrease of £133. A report was received from the harbourmaster at Manukau stating that the launch Tot was totally destroyed by fire off Mangere Point on March 19. The launch was owned by J. J. Craig, Ltd., and Mr. J. White. A remnant of the hull and portion of the keel had been towed to Onehunga. The engineer reported that an elec-trically-operated fog bell has been installed on the outer encl of St. Mary’s Bay breakwater and was available tor use as from April 1. About 400 feet of the St. Heliers Bay Wharf has already been pulled up, approval having been given by the board last month.
