CRISIS IN TEXTILES
STOPPAGE FEARED WHEN WAGE-CUT COMES PRAYERS FOR SETTLEMENT LONDON, Monday. A meeting of textile workers of Yorkshire on Saturday has strengthened the belief of the trade union executives that they will cease work when the cuts in wages take effect on April 12. Representatives of the general council of the Trade Union Congress are visiting Bradford. They hope the Ministry of Labour will intervene to avert a prolonged stoppage. At present, however, there are no indications of either side giving way. Prayers for a wise and just settlement were offered in all the Anglican and Free Churches in Yorkshire yesterday-
