SHERIFF BIGHAM 'S LOSS

WIFE’S SUDDEN DEATH News lias just been received in Auckland of the death of Mrs. Jessie Lee Bigham, wife of Sheriff John Bigham, who was in Auckland last year in connection with the arrest of Mr. A. B. Crouch. Mrs. Bigham was taken ill suddenly on January 17, and died early on the following morning. She married Sheriff Bigham in 1899 at Chickasha, Oaklahoma, and there were two sons, Floyd and Bob. She was 47 years of age. The funeral was attended by prominent public and business men of the city. Sheriff Bigham intends to seek reelection this year, subject to the action of the democratic primaries in July. He has been very popular in Temple throughout his three terms of office, during which period he brought about some of th© most important arrests in the history of the county, states the “Temple Daily Telegraph.”
