CONVERTING A CAR

MAORI FINED £5 I'rovi Our Oxen Correspondent PUKEKOHE, Today. As a sequel to a car collision in Queen Street, Pukekohe, on Saturday evening, a. Maori, Pom Pira, was charged in the Police Court today, before justices of the peace with unlawfully converting a car to his own use. It was stated that accused was intoxicated and ho removed a car from outside the Pukekohe Hotel, collided with another vehicle in Queen Street and then ran into a fence. Pira then abandoned the car, making off in tho darkness. Ho was later arrested at his employer's farm. The car was damaged to the extent of £6O. Accused was fined £5 and ordered to pay medical expenses.
