REMOVING POWER POLES

LIABILITY STILL NOT DETERMINED CONSULTATION LIKELY With the possibility of a. consultation being held between the Waitemata ElectriC-Power Board and the Waitemata County Council on the question of liability in removing power poles in county work, a notice of motion on the question, brought before the board this morning, was withdrawn. In his notice, Mr. M. A. Robertson had moved the rescinding of a motion passed by tho board last December, disclaiming libility in the cost of removing power poles in the reconstruction of the Titirangi main highway. Mr. Robertson moved, instead of the previous motion, that the cost of removing the poles, within three years of their erection, should be borne by the county. After that time the board and tho county should share the expense. Mr. G. Trevithick thought the original resolution should stand. It would be better either for the Couxty Council or the board to have a decision reached in the Supreme Court. When Mr. G. O’Halloran mentioned the likelihood of a. consultation, tho notice was withdrawn.
