NORTHCOTE SOCIAL CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of members of the Northcote Co-operative Social Club was held in the Parish Hall, Northcote, on Saturday evening a large attendance of members being present. The balance-sheet presented showed the club’s finances to be on a sound basis. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. W. Rackitt; vice-president, Mr. H. Preston; hon. treas., Mr. C. Duke (reelected) ; hon. sec., Mr. C. Gilfoyle (reelected); women’s committee, Mesdames T. Howland, A. J. Grant, T. Fielding and Miss G. Williamson; men’s committee, Messrs. J. Williamson, W. Roberts, J. Gilfoyle, R. Norman, R. Moore, A. J. Grant, T. Fielding and P. Stewart. At the conclusion of the meeting supper was served, the tables being gaily decorated with Michaelmas daisies and brilliant-coloured cosmos. Old-time dancing was then indulged in, Mr. W. Rackett being M.C., while Mr. W. Mayall provided the music. During intervals songs were given by Messrs. C. Duke and W. Copeland. The children present were entertained with games and competitions.
