Masters Raymond Begg and Norman Reynolds, both of tbe Dargaville Discrict High School, tie. for first place for the best essay o the subject of “Ensilage Making.” -caster W. Matthews, of the Aropoliuo School, was third. Prizes wero offered by th» Northern "VYairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Association some months ago, and the results came to hand during the week. An offer by Mr. M. Pelco to present three medals to the Dargaville Football Club for presentation to the most consistent players in the senior, junior and third grade club teams, has been accepted. * * * A total sum of £27 9s is the result of the first week's efforts in this district for the obstetrical endowment appeal.
