CANADIAN TREATY
DEBATE ON TRADE CONDITIONS • OTTAWA, Thursday. An amendment to a motion to go j n te supply calling for the abrogation ~'f tile Australian trade treaty was defrated in the Dominion House of Com_-nu-ns this evening by 140 votes to 16. A sub-amendment urging the Government to revise the terms of the treaty was also defeated by 110 votes Th t , amendment was moved by Mr. ■ Robert Gardiner. Leader of the United Farmers’ Party, of Alberta. It was opposed by all the Liberal members except one. also by the Conservatives, Liberal Progressives and Independents.
