MORRINSVILLE CLUB From Our Own Correspondent MORRINSVILLE, Friday. The final game of the Morrinsville Club’s A grade championship was played on Friday for the Hawkins silver cup, between Mesdames P. S. Philpot and A. Meharry. The result was a win for Mrs. Philpott. The first two games between the two contestants, played about a fortnight ago, resulted in one win each. On Friday the two finalists had a great battle to a 26—22 point win in Mrs. PhilpQtt’s favour. This is the second year in succession that Mrs. Philpott has won the trophy, so that it becomes her own property. TATUANUI V. TAHUNA A number of players from the Tahuna Croquet Club visited the Tatuanui Club on Thursday, and an enjoyable day’s play resulted. The Tatuanui players won most of the games. Huring the afternoon. Airs. A. G. Crowe presented the trophies won last season to Mrs. Sing (Airs. Anderson’s trophy for the A grade players) and Airs. AV. Xorthcott (Mr. J Hillary’s trophy for the B grade players).
