SIXTEEN HORSES FOR SYDNEY A big string of horses, comprising 16 thoroughbreds, was shipped to Australia by the Maunganui yesterday afternoon. Such well-known performers as Bells of Shandon, Hyde Park, Oil King, Attala d. Our Comet, Cynique, the brood mare Saucy Lass, and nine yearlings formed a valuable consignment. Hyde Park and Our Comet were taken across by A. Rhodes, while Oil King and Bells of Shandon have been sent over to join F. McGrath’s team at Randwick. Attalad and Saucy Lass have gone over to be sold, and Cynique, who was purchased by H. R. Telford, lessee of Pliar Lap, a couple of months ago, is to join that trainer’s team at Randwick. The yearlings, which are to be sold at the Easter sales, comprise fillies by Romeo from Takahau, Fireclay. Lady Elysian, Florita, Glenlickey, Thurnley, and Orpheum respectively, and two colts, one by Romeo from Lady Kerman. and the other by Limond from Duchess Eudorus. With the exception of the Limond colt, which is owned by Mr. C. M. Emanuel, the yearlings are the property of Mr. Ernest Alison.
