FAREWELL PARTY MRS. SEARSON HONOURED OTAHUHU FUNCTION There was a large attendance at the Kingsford Hall, Otahuhu, recently, when a ‘social was given in honour of Mrs. Searson, nee Miss Madigan, who lias been spending an extended holiday in Otahuhu* Before her marriage, Mrs. Searson was a popular resident of the district. The function was quite a representative one, and during the evening, the Mayor, Mr. T. Clements, made a presentation to Mrs. Searson, conveying the best wishes of those present for a pleasant voyage to her home in Sydney and her future happiness. Mr. J. Gillies replied on behalf of Mrs. Searson. Musical items were contributed by Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Searson and Mr. Green. Bailee music was supplied by Mrs. J. Gillies, Messrs. Dinnison and Ayres. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss Moss and Mr. McDell, and Mrs. Searson and Mr. Clements. Messrs. Gillies, Thorpe and Christine acted as masters of ceremony. HERNE BAY PARTY SURPRISE VISIT TO CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY A surprise party was given to Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Bradley at their residence, 4 Mercer Street, Herne Bay, by a number of friends on Tuesday evening, on the occasion of Mr. Bradley’s birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Bradley welcomed the visitors and a large bouquet of native flowers and foliage was handed to Mr. Bradley as a token of regard and good wishes in connection with the anniversary. An enjoyable evening was spent with music, bridge and dancing. Bowls of pink belladonna lilies made the reception room and lounge very attractive, while the supper room was decorated with pink roses and carnations. The hostess received her visitors wearing a smart frock of black georgette and Spanish lace, and Miss Bradley wore a pretty midnight blue floral georgette.
