DOUBLE LOAD?

TRUCK AND TRAILER USED EXCEEDED WEIGHT ALLOWED From Our Oxen Correspondent HAMILTON. Today. The question whether a trailer fixed behind a motor lorry constituted a combined load arose in a case in the Magistrate’s Court today in which Colin Tuck, a sawmiller. of Frankton, was charged with operating a r otor-truck and trailer, making a combined load and thus carrying a weigh - , in excess of the classification of the road. An inspector for the Waikato CountyCouncil prosecuted. The defence held the defendant was justified in his action as separate licences had been obtained for both truck and trailer. After lengthy evidence had been heard, judgment was reserved.
