Pirate Shippe Scene of Colon)fill Dance FUNCTION PROVES POPULAR At Ye Pirate Shippe, Milford, last evening, the North Shore Rowing Club held its annual ball. There was a large number of dancers present, and the Versatile Pirates’ orchestra played delightful dance music. | THE decorations were carried out in blue and white, the club’s colours, i The Bays water Boating Club’s women's committee assisted in the supper arrangements. The committee comprised: Mrs. C. Seagar, who wore a gown of black georgette beaded in silver and black. Mrs. Lidgard, was in a frock of pale pink satin beaute, with silver tissue | flower on the shoulder. I Mrs. Short was wearing a black 1 georgette frock, heavily beaded in black j and silver. j Mrs. Butland had on jade green j georgette, embroidered in black and | silver, edged with rhinestones. I Mrs. Inkster, gowned in black georf gette. | Mrs. Beacon, wore a frock of cameo ; pink satin. | Mrs. Farquharson chose a frock of | black georgette, beaded in black and : gold, with shoulder spray of gold and jjade green. Mrs. Sharp was frocked in apricot | georgette, beaded in silver, j Mrs. J. Williamson had chosen a j frock of fawn georgette. I Mrs. Smith was in apple green geor- | gette, relieved with pink. Mrs. .Tide had on a gown of bronze lace over georgette. Mrs. Edwards was in a frock of black chenille georgette and lace. Mrs. Cook chose black lace over green satin. Miss Hurfit was frocked in rose pink taffeta, with deep scalloped hem and hip bow. Miss Porter was wearing an apricot ! ring velvet frock, with, deep hem of j gold tissue, and shoulder posy in jade j green. | Miss Melville chose a frock of cream | lace over'peach satin, with uneven j hem. Miss Tatton was in cream lace over cherry red satin, with a bow on the hip. Miss Charman was wearing powder [blue satin, with uneven hem. and j Oriental shawl. AMONG OTHERS PRESENT. Others present were:— Mrs. Paul Thompson, who was gowned m apple green georgette, with floral emoroidered spray. Mrs. P. Williams was wearing black and silver beaded georgette. Mrs. Bow had chosen a frock of jade ! green beaded georgette. .Mrs. Whyte had on white lace and mnon, with maize shawl. Mrs. Iceland was In powder blue georgette, embroidered in silver. Mrs. s. Macduff was in a green frilled taffeta frock. Mrs. Penman’s frock was of green sequinned satin. Mrs. Anderson was frocked in black georgetet and lace over pink georgette. Mrs. Elliott chose rose ring velvet, with silver beaded shoulder spray. Mrs. P. Procter had on a gown of eau de nil georgette. Mrs. Waterhouse was wearing powder blue georgette, beaded in silver. Mrs. Griffin was gowned in floral ninon. Mrs. Nix wore mauve ring velvet with aiamente trimmings. .Mrs. IT. Seagar, vieux rose embossed ring velvet. Mrs. .Shannon was frocked in jade green crepe de chine and ecru lace. Mrs. W. F. Williams was in a frock of pastel pink ring velvet and silk net with appliqued sprays of pale pink flowers and silver leaves. Miss Pickworth was in pale pink georgette and black lace beaded in silver. Miss P. Brett had on delphinium blue frilled ninon frock. Miss W. Ayres was wearing old rose crepo de chine. Miss B. Bogan’s frock was apple green moire frilled taffeta. Miss D. Anderson wore powder blue crepe de chine with deep lace hem. Miss Gardiner was in rose pink ring velvet. i Miss P. Seagar was frocked in cherry i red shot taffeta with black lace uneven hem edged with gold. Miss J. Niall was in a flame shot taffeta ; frock with frilled skirt. I Miss B. Miss Joan Sterling was in nile green souple satin with deep flared skirt. DUCHESS BLUE MOIRE moire 8 K * Morris liad on duchess blue Miss Pike chose a frock of floral tinsel and frilled ninon. Miss Totman was in blue georgette and silver lame. Miss Gillespie bad on a frock of pale pink satin and georgette. Miss Atkinson wore silver lame and peach georgette. Miss B.* Williams, cameo pink crepe de chine, petalled skirt, with crystal trimj mings. j Miss M. Rosenfeldt chose a gown of black ring velvet with gold lame hem. Miss IX Rosenfeldt, vieux rose floral lame and lace. Miss Hayward was in a jade green crepe de chine and gold lace frock. Miss T. Smith's frock was of jade green taffeta, with silk net. Miss G. Pickett wore black ring velvet With deep hem of silk net. Miss Iv. Oliver was gowned in white satin and chiffon. Miss Thelma Kyle was in floral georgette and lace. Miss Jean Kyle had on apricot taffeta. Miss J. Cooksey ciio.se a frock of pale pink and apple green georgette. Miss B. Alison had chosen shot green moire with shoulder spray of gold flowers. Miss Quirke was in powder blue embossed ninon. Miss J. Murray had on old gold satin and black georgette. Miss Lloyd wore cameo pink crepe de chine gold embroidered. Miss L. Cooksey was in powder blue floral embossed ninon. Miss Mulligan had on floral ninon. Miss Noel Wynyard was wearing black ring velvet with jade green shoulder spray. GIFT AFTERNOON ARTICLES COLLECTED FOR CHURCH FAIR Organised to obtain articles for the forthcoming Anglican Church fair, a gift afternoon was held at Ramarama on. Saturday, a fine array of goods being received. The programme was contributed to by Mrs. Snedden, Misses K. Harrison and Beryl AYootten and Master B. Snedden. A “soapy” competition was won by Mrs. C. Flay and Miss Bruce Thompson. In the evening a social was held for the same purpose. Miss Snedden, Miss Beryl Wootten, Mr. L. Bradstreet. Mesdaines R. Armiger and Bradstreet ; contributed to the programme. Mrs. t Keane played dance music. A “floral j wedding” competition was won by j Misses Marjorie Foote and Joan Jen- | rings, and a “motor-car” competition | by Master Pat Cossey.
