AUSTRALIAN TARIFF MOVE REPORTED PROTEST FROM BRITAIN United P.A. — By. Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 11.15 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. A message from Canberra intimating that the Commonwealth Government is considering an Italian trade treaty granting Italian goods an intermediate tariff, is unfavourably commented upon by British manufacturers, who maintain that foreign tariff ameliorations automatically lessen British preferences.
