From Our Own Correspondent TAURANGA, Tuesday. The Chamber of Commerce, at its meeting last evening, passed a resolution in favour of making the Summer Time Act operate from the first Sunday in October to the last Sunday in April. * Several ma tters are to be brought before the Hon. E. A. -Ransom on his visit here next week. Notice was received that a party of farmers from South Taranaki would be visiting the Bay of Plenty during May, and they proposed spending three days in Tauranga. A committee was appointed to confer* with the A. and P. Association and the branch of the Farmers’ Union to make all arrangements for the visit. It was decided that the president of the A. and P. Association and the chairman of the Farmers’ Union should bo made honorary members of the chamber. A special committee was set up to promote and develop Tauranga as a summer resort and also to endeavour to get a round trip via Rotorua established for tourist traffic.
