PLUNKET SERVICE
FUNDS URGENTLY NEEDED STREET APPEAL ON FRIDAY Aiming to raise £2,200 to meet the annual cost of maintaining the necessary nurses to carry on its splendid humanitarian work, the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society will hold its annual street day appeal on Friday, March 28. It is hoped to raise this sum in the City and suburbs, and anything less will mean that fewer nurses will have to be employed, and will to some extent have a crippling effect on the service. The society holds the opinion the need to help Auckland's mothers and babies is greater than ever, and it is depending upon the public to show its practical recognition of the excellent service performed in this direction during the 21 years the society has been working here.
