DEATH AT SEA

CHILD DIES SUDDENLY PASSENGER ON MAUNGANUI The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Lowndes, second saloon passengers on the Maunganui, died at sea yesterday. The child was taken ill suddenly and Dr. G. H. Rutter, who was also a passenger on the Maunganui, was called. By the time he arrived, however, the child was dead. A report was made to the captain, but an inquest will probably be held. The body was brought on to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Lowndes were travelling with them two children to Auckland from Sydney.
