SCIENCE AND SCRIPTURE

LESSONS FROM THE STARS ALL WORK OF ONE CREATOR Basing his sermon on the text, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth his handywork/* Pastor Ruben E. Dowle, A.V.1., Ph.S., spoke on “How Science Confirms Scripture/’ at the Mount Roskill Congregational Church yesterday. Mr. Dowle referred to the recent report of the discovery of a new planet and to the difference of opinion expressed by various scientists concerning this body. *He believed that David, many thousands of years ago, had made a much more valuable discovery from the point of view of humanity in general, which he had expressed in the words of the text. Modernism of the baser type is responsible for much bogus science, and is chargeable with dangerous teachings. It is becoming a menace. We must return to the authorised and tested standards.

David in psalm adores his Creator. His writings are full of praise and real happiness. He taught that we should adore Him, for even the heavens declare His glory and handywork.

He teaches, too, that the hand that made us is divine. Christ came as the Revealer of the God of the Universe. Moderns today need to ponder the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ. He saves, illuminates and prepares His followers for time and eternity.
