Turnbull, the recently appointed secretary to the Western Samoan Administration, sailed today by the Tofua for Apia. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Liston, Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, left today to bless and open a new church at Kawhla on Sunday. Mr. W. Peterson, chief engineer of the Government steamer Tutanekai, is to leave Wellington for London by the Corinthic on April 9. He will supervise the work of fitting the engines into the new steamer which has been ordered by the Government to replace the Tutanekai and which is expected to reach the Dominion next October. Dr. Kathleen Curtis, mycologist at the Cawthron Institute, Nelson, will attend the International Botanical Conference at Ca.mbridge, England, in August. Leaving: the Dominion at the end of May, Dr. Curtis will travel Home via the United States, and Canada, where mycological research stations will be visited. Following the conference.
