FIFTH WELLINGTON SALE PRICES DECLINE AGAIN Pi ess Association WELLINGTON. Friday. A small catalogue of 11.935 bales was offered at the tiftli Wellington wool sale of the s:ason this evening. Tin offering was generally of indifferent Quality. .Bidding was unusually vigorous, but reserves were too high for buyers, only 6i) to 65 per cent, of the catalogue being sold. Only a limited quantity ot super wool was available. Generally there was a decline from the rates at the last Wellington suß of one penny a pour.d on drossbreds and lambs* wool, and a halfpenny to three-farthings on skirtings, although prices were on a par with those at Dunedin and Invercargill. The offering was mainly of crossbreds. there being the merest sprinkling of Merino and halt'breds. Super crossbreds. 46- 4 S quality, sold in one or two cases at 6id to 9d per lb., this being about the highest price realised. Sap*'- - medium crossbred made 6£d to 7Jd. and these prices were the most often heard in the saleroom.. The bulk of the bidding came from Bradford with an occasional bid on behalf of America when a super line was offered. There was fair inquiry for lambs’ wool L>ut prices were not up to those at the last sale. Continental buyers and local scourers competed for bellies and pieces which showed a relative decline. The range of prices was as follow: - T'ino Half bred.—Average, Sid to Sid; inferior, 6Ad to 7Jd Medium Ha If bred. —Average, 7id to Sd; inferior. 6*d to 7d. Extra Fine Crossbred.—Super, t<> Did: average, 7£d to .Sid; inferior, 6d to 7d. Fine Crossbred. —Super. Sid to 9d. average. 7d to 72d; inferior, sid t*' Sid. Medium Crossbred. —Super, Sd to Sid. average, 6Sd to 7Ad; inferior. 5Jd to 6*d. Coarse Crossbred. —Average, 6td to 7id; inferior, 5d to 6d. Bow Crossbred. —Average, 6Jd to 7id: inferior. 5d to 6d. liog&ets.—4S-50, 7Jd to 9d; fine, 7ld to Sid: medium, 7d to 7id. Bambs* Down.—so-56, 7Jd to 9d; fiiif 7id to lOAd; seedy and inferior, -id to sd. Bellies and Pieces.-—Crossbred, good to super. 4id to 6d; lew to medium 2ld to 40. Crutchings.—Medium to good.
