WAIKATO A. AND P. ASSN
From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Friday. Despite a loss of £252 on the last summer show owing to bad weather, the report of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association, to be presented at the annual meeting next Saturday, discloses a satisfactory year. “Entries were good in both numbers and quality of exhibits,” states the report, “and brought many complimentary remarks from the judges. It is with the greatest regret that the committee has to report about 50 per cent, decrease from normal gate takings owing to the very inclement weather.” The report adds that to counteract this the prize lfioney wag reduced by 10 per cent, and it was pleasing to record that no' complaints had come to hand from exhibitors. There had been no increase in the bank overdraft during the year and members’ subscriptions and arrears had come to hand more readily. Tlie final payment on the new sale arena had been made and during the year £76 had been donated toward the fund for this purpose. The chief items on the expenditure side of the revenue account are: Prizes, including trophies, £1,187 19s 2d, and wages, £353 16s. Following are the receipts:—Subscriptions, £557; entry fees, £ 477; donations for prizes, etc., £592 9s; privileges, £6O; gates and stands, £330 10s 2d; rents and grazing, £612 17s 7d; space, £72 17s; catalogues. £23 15s lid.
