NEW SINGLES CHAMPION From Our Own Correspondent NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. In the final of the men’s singles of the New Plymouth Tennis Club, A. H. Richards defeated C. B. Webster, thus breaking a record which has lasted for 25 years. The club championship board carries records since 19<>5 and so far only two names have been engraved on it. those of C. B. "Webster and J. C. Nicholson. From 1905 to 1920 Nicholson won 16 times in succession and was again victorious in 1922. Webster won in 1921 and then seven times in succession from 1923 to 3 929. Thus Nicholson won the title 3 7 times and Webster eight.
