OFENING AT CAMBRIDGE From Our Oioh Correspondent . CAMBRIDGE, Thursday. In community progress Cambridge advanced another step forward this afternoon with the official opening of the new Plunket and Rest Rooms, situated in Victoria Street, .iust below the post office. The new structure is the result of a successful queen carnival held 15 months ago, when, in the course of a few weeks, about £1,300 was raised. » In neat bungalow style, the new building has two departments. On the one side are up-to-date Plunket facilities, comprising three rooms and conveniences, while on the other side is a large rest room with conveniences at the rear. The structure is built m brick at a cost of £975. The balance of the £1,300 lias been handed over to the local Plunket I Society for maintenance work. | This afternoon, before a large attendance of district jresidents, the Plunket department was declared open for general use by the member for the district, Mr. P. Lye, while Mr. C. H. Priestley, Mayor, received the rest room on behalf of the district. The chairman of , the Queen Carnival Committee, Mr. J. S. Fisher, spolce of the great pleasure it. gave all concerned in being able to hand over such a line addition to the public facilities of the borough and district.
