JUSTICES MEET IN SOUTH

FEDERATION CONFERS Press Association TIMAKU, Thursday. The annual conference of the New Zealand Federation of Justices’ Associations continued today. It was decided that the question of making some payment toward the support of wives and families of prisoners who may be sentenced to terms of imprisonment of less than three months should be brought under the notice of the authorities. A Wanganui remit was carried, ing the necessity for the establishment of “half-way” houses for mental patients. The next conference is to be held at Wanganui. Reference was made to the line work ot’ Mr. I. Salek, of Wellington, the registrar of the federation. Fitting recognition of his services is to be made.
