TRAINING SHIP WANTED

DEPUTATION TO MINISTER Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Lack of opportunity for boys to train for the sea since the Government gave up the Amokura some yearsr ago was ■the subject of a deputation to Mr. G. W. Forbes, as the Prime Minister’s deputy, today. It was mentioned that the Union Co. was prepared to hand over the Corinna as a harbour training-ship, and Scales and Co. had offered the barque Rewa for the same purpose. The suggestion was also made that the Tutanekai and the Maui Pomare should carry a certain number of boys for training. Promising to investigate the matter, Mr. Forbes said that he would confer with the Minister of Marine. He agreed that the provision of a harbour training-ship would meet the position best, provided full training was/given.
