DEADLY WAR ENGINE

INVISIBLE TORPEDO ON NEW SUBMARINE GERMAN’S INGENUITY Reed. 10.20 a.m. BERLIN, Wed. Designs for a new type of submarine, armoured and requiring no ballast and developing a surface speed of 22 knots, and equipped with a torpedo showing no wake, has been produced by Professor Oswald Flamm. who claims this would be as much in advance of existing submarines as the German pocket battleship Ersatzpreussen is ahead of its predecessors. The torpedo’s invisibility is achieved by an improved drive, which also increases its speed. Germany is not permitted to build submarines, and Flamm is unable to finance his model, but he hopes a foreign Government will become interested.
