NOXIOUS WEED PROBLEMS

Press Association STRATFORD, Wednesday. A meeting convened by the Farmers’ Union decided to urge the Government to extend the powers of their inspectors so as to give full local control as regards noxious weeds, to give the insjwctors extra assistance to provide finance for farmers to enable them to deal with weeds and to amend the existing legislation if required. A resolution of the Taranaki Local Bodies’ Association urging the establishment of noxious weeds boards received no support.
