POINT CHEVALIER TRAMS
SECTIONS ON NEW ROUTE DEFINED TWO FEEDER SERVICES Feeder buses are to be run from | Avondale and Point Chevalier Beach i to the hall corner to connect with the j trams on the new service which opens j on Sunday, March 30. The route for the Point Chevalier i service will be from the lower end of j Queen Street, along Wellesley .Street West. Hobson Street and Pitt Street to Karangahape Road. Sections are i to be at Pitt Street, Surrey Crescent J and ti e Stone Jug. There will be a I section at Walker Road when the line ■ is complete to Point Chevalier Beach. ; The first tram will depart from the j City at 7.14 a.m. on the opening day ; and will leave the hall corner at 7.41 ! a.m. Fourteen minutes between j trams at ordinary hours and seven i minutes at rush periods are allowed j under the provisional week-day timetable. On Sundays, the cars will leave at 14-minute intervals and additional trips will be made if necesFor Avondale passengers, it is proposed to build a changing station at the hall corner. The line to Point
Chevalier Beach is expected to t completed by July.
