FOOTBALL MEETINGS
SHORE RUGBY CLUB * The annual meeting of the North Shore Rugby Football Club was presided over by Mr. G. Reid. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. E. Aldridge; president, Major Redmond; vice-presidents, same as last year: secretary. Mr. H. K. Newman; treasurer, Mr. W. Simpson: management committee. Messrs. Cl. Sinclair, W. O’Brien. R. Yates. A. Styles, G. Souter, G. Beere and C. Joyce; selection committee, Messrs. J. Derrington, W. O'Brien, and H. Jackson: delegates to Auckland Rugby Union, Messrs. Oram, Sinclair and O’Brien; delegate to Junior Management Board, Major Redmond. Mr. 11. Frost, chairman of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, addressed the meeting. The retiring president, Mr. G. Reid, was elected a life member of the club. It was decided to commence practice on Saturday, March 29, providing the ground was ready. PAPATOETOE RUGBY | There was a large attendance of l members and prospective members at i the annual meeting of the Papatoetoe ! Rugby Union Club, which was held in the Papatoetoe Town Hall on Monday evening. Mr. H. C. "Webster presided. The balance-sheet, which was approved, showed the finances of the club to be very sound. The past season showed the best credit balance for some years. It was decided that the club enter a team in the senior B grade competitions, if the players and talent are | available. _ The formation of the team was left in the hands of the general committee. Intending pllaycvs are asked to hand their names to any officer of the club, or Mr. H. C. Webster, boot store, Station Road, Papatoetoe. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. J. .T. Valentine; vice-patron, Mr. G. Runciman; president, Mr. H. C. Webster; vice-presi-dents, Mr. A. B. Jameson, Messrs. T. R. Smytheman and Walker; secretary, Mr. M. French; treasurer, Mr. I. Hamilton; general committee, Messrs. H. C. Webster, M. French, I. Hamilton, W. Nesbitt, J. Havill, Collings, Walker, J. Joynt, J. Henderson.
