WORKED WITH SORE SHOULDERS From Our Oicn Correspondent NEW PLYMOUTH. Today. Two men were charged in the Magistrate's Court at Eltham yesterday with causing unnecessary cruelty to a horse. They were Samuel Arthur-Far - quhar. of Awatuna, and his employee. T\ Johns. Roth pleaded guilty and chose to be dealt with summarily. Constable O’Donoghue, of Kaponga, said that it was one of the worst cases he had ever seen. The horse had sores on its shoulders, which were in very had condition when he saw it working. The worst feature of the case, said the magistrate, was that Farquhar knew the condition of the horse, but 'vuuld not admit that its injuries were serious enough to warrant a rest. Farquhar was lined £2 with costs 325, and Johns was lined 10s, witn costs 12s.
