WEATHER FORECASTS
Sir.— Will Mr. Fi-eld please explain why the weather refuses to fulfil his predictions? If I remember rightly, Mr. Field predicted that the weather would break up on February 11 or 12, and continue bad until the end of March, with something special on March 4 or 5. The weather did break up about .February 13, thereby spoiling a perfectly good cricket match, but since then we have enjoyed a three-weeks’ drought, with no tiling uncommon on March 4 or 5. This is, of course, very unkind on the part of the weather and may cause some of your readers to doubt the infallibility of Mr. Field as a weather prophet. , Tn . __ SUNNI JIM. Mount Eden.
