INTERESTS CONSIDERED

COUNTRY POWER BUYERS A country resident’s complaint, made in an Auckland newspaper, that the Auckland Electric-Power Board had largely concentrated its efforts and expenditure in the City, was denied by the chairman of the board, Mr.,W. J. Holdsworth, at a meeting yesterday afternoon. Mr. Holdsworth said it was patently clear the board was not overlooking country consumers. It had opened an office at Otahuhu, the plans of a building at Papatoetoe were being prepared, and a section had been bought at Papakura. Every consumer was able to pay at the door and the board had even gone to the extent of arranging with local bodies to accept accounts in localities where the board did not have offices.
