WESTERN TAKAPUNA AFFAIRS
At a well attended meeting of the Takapuna Weetern Area Ratepayers' and Residents’ Association, presided over by Mrs. J. C. Blomfield. arrangements were reported to be well in hand for the progressive euchre party to be held shortly to raise funds for the shelter idled at Ivillarney. There was every indication that the function would be a marked success. The president also spoke in support of the campaign for funds to endow a chair of obstetrics and appealed to members to attend a public meeting to be held in Takapuna shortly. It was suggested that a full.'* trained midwife should bo stationed at Takapuna to assist in urgent cases.
