ANNUAL MEETING

TAKAPUNA BRANCH OF PLUNKET SOCIETY Tlie Takapuna branch, of the Plunket • Society held its first annual general meeting in the parish hall yesterday afternoon. The large attendance of mothers . was welcomed by Mrs. J. E. Close, who presided. The secretary, Mrs. A. M. Seaman. ! read the report and balance sheet, and j it was stated that the branch was able to donate £lO 10s to the Auckland fund, and that through the energetic work of the committee, last year’s quota of £6O had been raised. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. J. E. Close; vicepresident, Mrs. Claude Black; secretary, Mrs. Mowbray; committee, Mrs. J. W. Williamson, Mrs. McGregor, Mrs. J. Wiseman, Mrs. Eric Wiseman, Mrs. T. B. Arthur, Mrs. Eotheringham, Mrs. A. Gould, Mrs. Tlowden, Mrs. G. 31. Matthews, Mrs E. C. Cutten, Mrs. C. j M. Littlejohn, and Miss Colegrove. I A short but instructive address was j given by Nurse Stronacli on “Plunket | Work,” followed by enjoyable musical items given by Mrs. RAN. S. Chisholm. Mrs. Eric Wiseman and Miss Phyllis Lewis. Mrs. Cammell was the accompanyist. After afternoon tea had been served, E>r. Warnock, in explaining the objects of the obstetrical endowment appeal, said he hoped that Takapuna would contribute to the worthy cause..
