OUTING AT SWANSON PARK The staff of the Auckland Savings Bank and their friends spent an enjoyable outing at Swanson Park yesterday on the occasion of the annual picnic. Byerley, 2; J. Dixon, 3. Time, 11s. IOOYds. Handicap: F. Byerley (21yds). 1; W. F. Fraser (scr), 2; L. Moore (2£yds), 3. Time, 10 4-ss. One Mile Handicap: L. C. Barker (scr), 1; J. Stuart (85yds), 2; W. F. Fraser (100yds), 3; W. Guyan (135yds), 4. The only finishers from a field of ten. Time, 5m 9 2-ss. High Jump: F. Byerley, sft. Jin. (Sin. handicap). 1; G. Huston, 4ft llin. (4Jin.), 2; R. Simpson, 4ft. 10iin. (Sin.), 3. 50Yds. Women’s Championship (visitors): Mrs. Barker, 1; Miss Garrett and Miss Harry, equal, 2. Time, 7 3-ss. The novelty events resulted as folloAv: —Peanut on knife race: Mrs. P. Barry and Mr. H. J. Barrett, 1: Mrs. L. C. Barker and Mr. L. C. Barker, 2; Mrs. H. Graham and Mr. H. Graham, 3. Paper bag blowing race: Mrs. L. C. Barker and Mr. L. C. Barker, 1; Miss Garrett and Mr. C. Coyte, 2. Motor-car potato race: Mr. Wm. Guyan 3; Mr. C. Harrison, 2. Blindfold driving race: Mrs. Barker and Mr. Barker, 3; Miss Woodger and Mr. W. F. Fraser, 2. SOYds. swimming championship (decided prior to picnic): G. Graham, 1; A. Simmonds, 2; W. F. Fraser, 3. The Points Cup, presented by Mr. C. Bartley, W. F. Fraser being the runner-up Avith *lO points. was won by F. Byerley with 13 points. The sports were controlled by Mr. F. E. Sutherland. The seven, cups and other trophies Avere presented to the successful competitors by Mrs. T. X. Smallwood.
