DEPRESSION IN AUSTRALIA SPENDING TOO MUCH There is less unemployment in Queensland under the present Government and a great deal more confidence stated the Rev. C. G. Turner, of Brisbane. who arrived by the Ulimaroa this morning on a holiday visit. He said that the Moore Government worked in the interests of the people, not the party. Australia’s present period " of depression was a moral question. Reople were spending more than they were earning. This would have to stop before the country righted itself. Mr. Turner had no difficulty in getting a, draft on the banks in New Zealand. He mentioned that a draft of £IOO in London cost £lO4, but in New Zealand it cost only £IOO 7s 6d
