sister McGregor The death is announced from Christchurch of Airs- Katherine Peek, a former war nurse. As Sister AleGregor she had over four years’ active service and wa£ mentioned in dispatches.—P.A. MRS. MARY BISHOP Airs. Alary Bishop, one of the pioneers of New Zealand and one of the original Waipu settlers, died at her home in Spring Street, Onehunga, yesterday at the age of S 7. Born at Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Airs. Bishop came to New Zealand at the age of 14 in the ship Bredalbon. She was married at Waipu by the late Bishop Selwyn and lived there for nearly 50 years, afterward removing to Onehunga, where she lived until the time of her death. Mrs. Bishop is survived by one son and three daughters. There are 12 grandchildren and seven great-grand-children.

I Another of the veterans of the* i Maori TV ars, Air. Adam Clapperton j T ort died at liis home in Alariborough j Street, Mount Albert, yesterday morn--1 ing at the age of S 5. Born in Edinburgh, Mr. Fort came to New Zealand jin 1861 and two years later joined I Pitt’s Corps of 400 volunteers* and was | engaged at the taking of Rangiriri. After serving at a number of military stations in the province he spent some , time at the Thames and Victorian goldfields and then set up in business in Auckland. Air. Fort is survived by his second wife, one son, Air. G. D. Fort, of Auckland, and three daughters, Mrs. Tremain. of Auckland. Airs. Thompson, of Bayswater, and Aliss J. Fort, of Bayswater. There are 13 grandchildren.
