INCREASED REVENUE
WAITEMATA POWER BOARD RETURNS Tho gross sales of current for the month of February in the Waitemata Electric-Power Board’s district' amounted to £5,199 15s 7d, compared with £4,213 4s Id for the corresponding month last year, an increase of £986 Us Gd, stated the secretary, Air. A. Alain, in a report to the meeting of the board today. The total sales for the 11 months ended February 28, 1930, were £66,563 7s 6d, as against £57,074 3s lOd for the corresponding period last year, an increase of £9,488 3s Bd. Discounts allowed to consumers for the 11 months totalled £B,OBI. The engineer reported that as a result of the clocks being put back last SLinday under the daylight-saving scheme, the peak load was now 'coming on earlier and that arrangements for this had to be made to avert inconvenience to consumers. The Chairman: This must also affect the Public Works Department in regard to the supply of current. It should have a say as to when the clocks are to be altered. The engineer also reported that as a result of new industries being established in the Henderson area, regular and profitable peak periods were being experienced there.
