From Our Own Correspondent THAMES, Sunday. The Thames Trotting Club has asked the railway authorities to postpone the departure of the special train from Thames on the day of its meeting until 6.15 p.m. The time at present advertised is six o’clock. The local golf club will open the 1930 season on Saturday, April 12. * * * Pound notes are a scarcity in Fiji Island. An ex-Thames resident who now resides on Lakeba Island took one month to collect £9 in notes to send to a firm, and said they were* the only notes in circulation on the island. The Baptist Church will hold its annual Easter camp at Thames this year. It will be located on the Thames South scno/1 grounds. The High School cadets go into camp on March 24 for their annual week’s military training. The camp will be held on the school grounds. The membership of the Thames Trotting Club has reached the creditable number of 4-5.
