COLLISION WITH CART
MOTORISTS INJURED A collision between a motor-car and a horse and cart on the Great South Road, near Manurewa, yesterda-y afternoon, resulted in three persons being injured. Mrs. Wynne Murray, of Grafton Road, suffered concussion of the brain which necessitated her removal to the hospital; Mr. A. Adams, a barman employed at the Club Hotel. Ponsonby, received cuts; and Mr. A. G. Frost, the driver of the car, who lives at Khyber Pass Road, also received cuts- Mrs. Murray’s condition, which was fairly serious, is reported this morning to be slightly improved. The car was travelling toward the City when the accident occurred. If was stated that the driver swerved to avoid a dog and struck the rear of the cart, smashing the shafts and forcing the body of the vehicle on to the front of the car, which was extensively damaged. Both the driver of the cart and the horse escaped injury. The St. John Ambulance was sent out from the City, but before it reached the scene of the accident a passing motor-car conveyed Mrs. Murray to the hospital, while another passing motorist removed Mr. Frost to a private hospital at Papakura.
