THE NARROW PATH

Sir, — Some time ago, letters appeared in your paper suggesting that something might be done, with advantage, to the “sheeptrack” which does duty for a road on one side of the main Remuera thoroughfare, just beyond the tram shelter at Dilworth Avenue. It is disgraceful that this narrow, illkept strip of path, with shrubs and grass jutting out upon it, should be allowed to remain as it is; a menace to pedestrians who stand the risk of being run over by passing buses if they so much as swerve an inch from “the asphalt tape.” Any Remuera resident who walks along here regularly should be qualified by now to accept a position as tightrope walker with Wirths’ Circus. Will Mr. Tyler, the new City Engineer, make this one of his first considerations, please? BLONDIN.
