THE UNBIDDEN GUESTS.- Following a challenge issued by Captain R. J. Varley to take supper in a cage containing nine lions, a party proceeded to the Nottingham Drill Hall and, in the presence of a large crowd, curious to see what would happen, proceeded calmlyto eat a meal which had been served on tables laid in the cage. The lions evinced no desire to take a meat course of their own and, beyond a growl or two, took no active part in the proceedings.
