TE KUITI CIVIC LEAGUE
ANNUAL EFFORT TO RAISE FUNDS GOOD RESPONSE TO APPEAL ; The annual effort to raise funds for carrying on its work, was held by the w a VUI V Women ’ a Civic League on Wednesday. The effort consulted of the opening of a well stocked shop hVu 11 '' aS Y ell P atr °nised by the public during the day, and also the holdmg of a most successful dance in the Hall in the evening. Swift’s orchestra was in attendance, and Air. H. Higgins acted as Af.C. ' A sum of £23 was raised as the re- !•, of * he sale ot? goods at the shop, while the result of the “League Shilscheme, whereby each member . gl , ve * a shilling to purchase materials for making up into various articles, has still to come in. In eome instances the sum of six shil- I lings resulted from the sale of members’ labours. The league gratefully acknowledges the following donations:— Airs. S. Craig £l.
