HAND-PAINTED BRIDAL GOWN
BECK—J'OLL The wedding was celebrated at St. Mark's Church. Te Aroha, on Tuesday evening, of Rawhiti Mary, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. J oil, of Waitoa, and Robert Alfred, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Beck, of Auckland, j The Rev. R. L. Connolly officiated. \ The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a frock of white georgette, hand-painted in silver, over pink satin, with uneven hem-line, dipping at the back. Her embroidered veil was caught on either side of the head with a sprig of orange blossom, and fell gracefully to form a train. The two bridesmaids were Misses Jean Kirkham (.Tokomaru Bay), cousin of the bride, and Jean Beck (Auckland), sister of the bridegroom. They were attired in princess blue and lemon, respectively, made with closefitting bodices and flared frills, with uneven hem-lines dipping at the back, and silver dutch caps. The little flower girls were Gwenda I/ynch and Jean- Johnson, who wore long dresses of pale pink georgette with touches of silver, and pink tulle head-dresses. They carried silver horse-shoes with streamers of pink ribbons. Mr. A. Bodley (Auckland) acted as best man, and Mr. B. Joll as groomsman. The reception was held at the Majestic Tea Rooms, where the bride’s mother received her guests wearing a navy georgette and lace ensemble, with bankok hat to tone. Mrs. Beck, the bridegroom’s mother, wore floral crepe de chine, in autumn tints, with hat to match.
