EIGHT BUILDINGS BURNED AT PLIMMERTON COVERS EXCEED £7.300 Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The properties which were destroyed in the disastrous fire at Plimmerton on Wednesday night were as follow: Seaview bcarding-house, owned and occupied by Mrs. A. E. Sollitt, who I took over the place five years ago, when it was renovated at considerable I expense. The building was insured in j the London, Liverpool, and Globe Office for £.1,550, and the contents i were covered by a poltcy in the same office for £950. A six-roomed cottage, and occupied by Mr. F. Garner, and insured in the London. Liverpool, and Globe Office for £7OO, with a policy of £3OO covering the contents. A four-roomed cottage, owned by Mr. Garner, and let. The insurance on this house was £3OO, and on the contents £SO. A five-roomed cottage, owned by Mr. Harcus Plimmer, of Wellington, and occupied by Mr. T. Wilson. The insurance was £450 in the Atlas Office. A six-roomed cottage, owned and occupied by Mrs. A. Toves, and insured in the Victoria Office for £250. The contents were insured in the t-.irae office for £2OO. A five-roomed cottage, owned by Mr. W. G. L. Mellish, of Wellington, and unoccupied at the time. The cottage was insured in the Atlas Office for £6OO, and the contents in the same office for £125. A general store and four-roomed dwelling, owned by Mr. A. H. Mildenhall, of Plimmerton, and occupied by Mr. R. L. Grant. The insurances are not at present available. None of the stock was saved. A five-roomed cottage owned by Mr. Mildenhall, and occu pied until yes ter day by Mr. W. J. Rogers, of Christchurch. The Victoria Office carries an ■ insurance of £4OO on the building * Mrs. Richardson’s house is insured ! in the Standard Office for £1,050, and the contents are covered in the same * office for £460. The shed which was 1 demolished contained a number of ; valuable goods, most of which were [ damaged. The house escaped with slight damage from heat and smoke. Telephonic and telegraphic com- ? munication with Plimmerton was deJ stroyed soon after the outbreak was r discovered. A Temporary circuit was * established by 4.30 a.m.
