“HIS GLORIOUS NiGHT” Inner secrets of European court intrigue and scandal of the present day, and dazzling glimpses of the “inside 7 ’ of the social side of “secret diplomacy” form the unusual plot for John Gilbert’s - latest Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer starring vehicle, “Mis Glorious Night,” a dialogue feature which is now at the Roxy Theatre. “His Glorious Night” is from the pen of Ferenc Molnar, the famous author of “The Swan,” “The Hevil” and other celebrated stage productions. Under the title of “Olympia" it was presented on every Continental stage, and created a furore in Europe because of its frank disclosures of many high State secrets. Catherine Dale Owen, the beautiful blonde stage star, who has the feminine lead, is the greatest discovery on the M-G-M lot since Anita Page. Following completion of Miss Owen’s | work in “His Oloidous Night,” Metro- j Goldwyn - Mayer took up its option on her contract for a long term. A full supporting programme of short talkie features is also being presented. VICTORIA, DEVONPORT “Three Live Ghosts,” the wellknown talkie comedy, continues to be the big attraction at the Victoria Theatre, Devonport. Large audiences are enjoying the clever comedy every night, and appreciating the troubles of “Spooky” (Claude Allister) and “Old Sweetheart 7 ' (Beryl Mercer). Excellent supports are included, making up a particularly fine programme. The height of something-or-other is 1 the letter received the other day at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio. On the envelope was pasted a picture of Greta Garbo with the address, “God knows | where."
