A proposal to alter the rules providing that the noble grand should be at least 21 years of age was rejected. In the interest of lodges it was agreed that young members should take an active part in the administration. The Franklin Lodge proposed that lodge representation should be on the basis of one for every 200 members, instead of one for every 100. This was adopted, but a proviso was added that each lodge should have the same voting power as at present. The change means that there will be a reduction in delegates from 104 to 72 on the present figures.
Representation at the New Zealand Conference will be on a basis of one delegate for every 1,000 members, instead of one for every 500. This proposal came from the Pukekohe Lodge and was adopted. Nominations for the district officers for 1951—32 were received as follow: District grand master, Mr. R. T. Scott; deputy-grand master, Messrs. F. Hard, J. E. Allen, T. W. Thompson, R. E. Fawcett, J. A. Gray, D. B. Currie, S. D. Eade, T. M. Hetet and J. W. Plotham; district secretary, Mr. John McLeod; district treasurer, Mr. John Clark; district warden, Mr. F. N. Bushell.
There was a large attendance of Oddfellows and friends at the installation of officers last evening.
