THREATENING LETTERS
HAWERA ACCOUNTANT BOUND OVER THREE SEEK PROTECTION Special to THE SUN NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. Fearing militant tactics as threatened by a fed low public accountant named H. A. Lennon, two other public accountants, W. G. Walkley and E. K. Cameron, and a solicitor, B. McCarthy, proceeded against Lennon and appealed to the law for protection. Lennon was charged in the Hawera Magistrate's Court yesterday with having sent threatening letters to the three, all of whom were in practice at Hawera. The indictable charges were withdrawn, and Lennon was hound over to keep the peace for 12 months, his own recognisance of £2OO and two sureties being the bonds. Suppression of his name was refused.
